Estevan Vásquez

The principal of VisionBroadcast Media LLC is Estevan Vásquez a practitioner of radio and television news, new media, strategic communications and marketing. Specialties include media relations, media training, digital marketing, aerial videography, video production and voice-overs.   

"I got started in news as an Army Private with the American Forces Network Europe in Germany, moved to New York City for college and stayed for years working in news and new media" says Vasquez. "Since returning to New Mexico, I've worked in newsrooms, in local, state and federal agencies and with small businesses and non-profits. I just love working in communications, news, broadcasting and new media. If it involves music, the arts, Veterans and/or anything serving the public good, all the better."

Vásquez now serves as a communication coordinator for Bernalillo County, New Mexico. In recent years Estevan had been working in communications and marketing mostly under the auspices of VisionBroadcast Media LLC, a public relations, digital marketing and video production boutique (now mostly on hiatus). Other experience includes account management at a full service agency performing public relations, digital marketing, media buying, social media and video production services for clients including government agencies, non-profits and local businesses. Favorite assignments have included coordinating national conferences for the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs, producing live and on demand video for Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque and serving as In City Planner for Navy Week Albuquerque.

Before putting out a shingle in 2016, Vasquez worked as a broadcast journalist with NM PBS, KOB Eyewitness News 4 (NBC), KRQE News 13 (CBS), KOAT Action 7 News (ABC) and KUNM Radio (NPR).

Public communications experience also includes Technical Writer/Editor, Bernalillo County, Public Information Officer, NM Department of Veterans Services and Public Affairs Specialist, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Community involvement includes prior service on the board of directors of The Children’s Hour, Society of Professional Journalists Rio Grande Chapter and AMP Concerts.  Vasquez is a graduate of Columbia University in the City of New York and a member of NAGC, NAHJ and NALIP.
